Mallikarjuna Temple

The Mallikarjuna Temple, located in Kasaragod, Kerala, India, is a 17th century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Constructed by the Ikkeri kings to pay tribute to warriors from Karnataka, the temple showcases intricate carvings, sculptures, and paintings on its walls. Its architecture exemplifies the unique Kerala style. The temple is open 24 hours a day with no entry fee.

The temple’s structures include: sreekovil, namaskara mandapam, chuttambalam, valiya-balikkal, and maryaada with arches.

As per legend, the idol of Lord Shiva in the temple was adorned by Arjuna, one of the Pandavas from the Hindu epic Mahabharata. To reach the temple by road, take NH 17. The nearest railway station is Kasaragod railway station, approximately 1 km away.
