Kottathavalam is best known for trekking as well as a waterfall at Poonjar adivaram. It is a secluded place best suitable for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts to visit. This place can be reached in 2 ways. One from the Vagamon Vazhikkadavu Kurishumala road and the Poonjar Adivaram Kurishumala walk path. The easiest one is taking the Jeep Road from Thangal Para. If you are an adventure enthusiast visiting Vagamon, then Kottathavalam is also a good one to add to your bucket list. Trekking here can be considered medium-difficult. There are many hidden dangers on the way. One has to be cautious while trekking.
Another attraction is the waterfall here. A 3km adventurous trek through the forest is required to reach here. On the way to reach the top of the waterfall, one has to cross two small water streams. Once reached, it has to offer a very scenic aerial view of the forest valley. This spot is very much like an infinity pool which makes this place even more worthy to visit.
