The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a haven for bird watchers and nature lovers. Also known as Vembanad Bird Sanctuary, this paradise is located precisely on the banks of the famous Vembanad Lake. This sanctuary is spread over 14 acres of lush forest and boasts many varieties of birds, including domestic and migratory birds. The sanctuary is quite interesting during the migratory season, which lasts from November to February. The breeding season [June to August] is also a pleasant time to visit this place.
The sanctuary is open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and has a nominal ticket charge to enter.
