Kerala State Museum and Zoo Thrissur

The Thrissur Zoo, also known as the Kerala State Museum and Zoo, is a 13.5-acre zoo located in Thrissur, Kerala, India. Established in 1885, it is one of the oldest zoos in the country and houses a diverse collection of animals, reptiles, and birds. The zoo is open from Tuesday to Sunday, operating from 9 AM to 5 PM, and remains closed on Mondays.

The zoo features a Zoological Garden, Botanical Garden, Natural History Museum, Art Museum, and 3D Theatre. The Art Museum showcases a diverse collection of wood-carvings, metal sculptures, Kathakali figurines, ancient jewelry, and traditional Kerala lamps. The zoo is home to over 50 different species of wild animals, such as tigers, deer, lions, sloth bears, monkeys, hippopotamus, camels, crocodiles, Mithun, and Lion-Tailed Macaques.
