Kaviyoor Rock Cut Temple is one of the oldest cave temples in Kerala. Therefore this place is both a tourism destination as well as an archeologically important site. It is located at Kaviyoor near Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta district.
This temple is very unique from the other typical temples in Kerala. The temple is basically made a part of a cave. And the architecture is said to have matched with the Pallava model architecture. This place bears historical significance also because of the curiosity-awakening stone sculptures and engravings here. These are very rare testaments of the Stone Age life in Old Kerala.
