Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary

The sanctuary’s operating hours are as follows: Monday to Thursday from 7 AM to 5 PM, Friday from 7 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 7 AM to 5 PM.

The Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is situated in the Vallikunnu Grama Panchayat of Malappuram, Kerala, India. It is spread over a group of islands where the Kadalundipuzha River meets the Arabian Sea. The sanctuary hill stands at approximately 200 meters above sea level and is located 19 kilometers from the city center of Kozhikode.

The sanctuary is inhabited by approximately 100 species of native birds and 60 species of migratory birds. Some of the migratory birds that can be observed from November to April include whimbrels, herons, sandpipers, and gulls. In addition, the sanctuary is also home to a variety of fish, crabs, and mussels.
