Angadipuram Temple

The temple holds a yearly pooram festival that spans 11 days and features processions, fireworks, dances, and festivities. The rituals conducted at the temple are believed to have originated in ancient times.

Located in Angadipuram, Malappuram, Kerala, the Thirumandhamkunnu Bhagavathy Temple, also known as the Angadipuram Temple, is dedicated to Goddess Durga. This temple is renowned for its worship of Goddess Bhadrakali and its wedding oblation ritual known as Mangalya Puja. Situated on a hillock, the temple is considered a significant pilgrimage center in Malappuram.

The temple is linked to a tale of King Mandhata from the Surya dynasty, who relinquished his kingdom to his heirs and opted to meditate on Shiva. Shiva manifested before the king and granted him a wish at Mount Kailash. The king requested for an idol to revere until his last breath.
