The Parambikulam Tiger Reserve covers an area of 643.66 square kilometers in the Palakkad and Thrissur districts of Kerala. Situated in the Chittoor taluk of Palakkad, it is approximately 100 kilometers away from the city. The reserve is accessible to visitors every day from 7 AM to 5 PM, except on Wednesdays and Thursdays when it closes at 4 PM.
The reserve is a habitat for numerous rare wild animals, including the oldest and tallest teak tree in the world. It is also recognized as a biodiversity hotspot, featuring a variety of habitats and endemic species. The climate within the reserve ranges from 15°C to 32°C, with altitudes ranging from 300 to 1440 meters and rainfall between 1400 and 2300 mm. Additionally, the reserve encompasses the Sungam range of hills, situated between the Anaimalai Hills and Nelliampathy Hills.
