Mother of God Roman Catholic Cathedral.
The Matri Dei Cathedral, also known as the Mother of God Church, is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Kozhikode, Kerala. Its history dates back to 1513 when it was constructed by the Portuguese with the approval of the Zamorins. Originally dedicated to the Virgin Mary of Immaculate Conception, it was officially designated as the Cathedral of the Diocese of Calicut in 1923.

The cathedral is renowned for its Romanesque architecture, characterized by curved arches on the doors and windows, a neo-Roman facade, and tall square towers. The interiors boast a striking blend of white and brown, with a 200-year-old portrait of St. Mary adorning the church wall. The cathedral has undergone multiple renovations throughout its history, notably in 1599, 1708, and most recently in 2008.
