Ezhimala

Ezhimala gets its name from the combination of two Malayalam words, “ezhu” meaning seven and “mala” meaning mountain. Situated as part of a collection of hills that create a promontory, Ezhimala is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, remarkable historical significance, and cultural importance.

One of Ezhimala’s notable features is its pristine beach that surrounds the hill. Additionally, the area is known for its abundance of medicinal herbs, each possessing unique healing properties.

The foothills of Ezhimala are home to remnants from the distant past, such as burial chambers, intricately carved stone pillars, caves, and granite platforms.

There is a belief that Lord Buddha once paid a visit to the area. In addition, Ezhimala is the location of the Indian Naval Academy (INA), a prestigious training institution for the Indian Naval Service and the Indian Coast Guard.
