The Mattancherry palace is also known as the Dutch Palace it is a quadrangular Palace with a double story structure. It was built in 1555 by the Portuguese as a gift to the Cochin king and it was a later renovated by the Dutch. Therefore this palace is a combination of Kerala, Portuguese and Dutch architecture. The palace has quiet a lot to see, like the spacious halls, Central courtyard, and huge collection of murals and portraits.
