Sree Vadakkumnathan Temple

The Vadakkunnathan Temple is a 1,000-year-old Hindu temple located in Thrissur, Kerala, India, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated in the heart of the city atop a hill, the temple offers panoramic views of the surrounding areas. It is a prime example of Kerala architecture, featuring grand towers on each side and a koothambalam. The temple is renowned for its exquisite murals, with some dating back over 400 years, including the iconic Nataraja Mural near the main entrance.

The temple features a spacious courtyard adorned with lush greenery and impeccably maintained temple buildings showcasing intricate wooden carvings. Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 4:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:20 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:15 PM.
