Varambetta Makham

The Varambetta Mosque in Wayanad, Kerala is a historic mosque dating back 300 years and is considered one of the oldest in the Wayanad district. Situated 15 km southwest of Kalpetta, this mosque welcomes visitors of all backgrounds, irrespective of caste, religion, or ethnicity. Known for its traditional Islamic architecture featuring a dome, minarets, intricate patterns, and calligraphy, the mosque is a must-visit for those interested in experiencing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

The mosque is open daily from 5 AM to 9:30 PM and holds daily prayers, including the five obligatory prayers (Salah) and the Friday congregational prayer (Jumu’ah). Additionally, the mosque organizes an annual festival in March that draws attendees from all over Wayanad, irrespective of their religious beliefs.
