Sree Seetha Devi Temple

The Seetha Devi Temple, situated in Pulpally, Wayanad, Kerala, is the sole temple in the state that venerates Sita’s sons, Lava and Khusha. The primary deity of the temple is Goddess Sita, and the legends of Ramayana are intricately connected to the temple and its sanctuary.

The temple is believed to have been constructed on the spot where Sita Devi and her sons took rest after a day of playing in the forest. The location is known as “Sisumala” in Malayalam, which translates to “children’s hill” or “hill of children”. The temple was constructed by Shri Pazhassi Raja in the 18th century and subsequently overseen by the Kuppathode family and the Nair family of Wayanad. There is no entry fee to visit the temple.
