Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary

The Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, is a rainforest located in Kerala, India. It is renowned for its diverse range of flora and fauna, making it the second largest wildlife sanctuary in Kerala covering an area of 344.44 sq km. The sanctuary is a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and is particularly famous for its substantial population of Asian elephants. Additionally, it is also home to tigers, deer, monkeys, and various species of birds.

The sanctuary includes tropical moist dry deciduous forests, evergreen forests, bamboo thickets, and plantations. It serves as a connecting link between Nagarhole and Bandipur parks in Karnataka and Mudumalai in Tamil Nadu. The entry fee is Rs. 110 for adults and Rs. 40 for children.
