Established in 1984, it is also referred to as the “Lifeline of Kannur”. The Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary is a 55 square kilometer wildlife park in Kannur, Kerala, India. Situated on the western slopes of the Western Ghats, it is the northernmost wildlife sanctuary in the state. The sanctuary boasts a diverse range of flora and fauna, making it a favorite destination for nature enthusiasts.
The sanctuary is accessible daily from 8 AM to 3 PM. Admission fee is 15 rupees per person, 300 rupees for a guide, 75 rupees for a vehicle, and 25 rupees for a camera. The sanctuary encompasses the villages of Aralam, Kelakam, and Kottiyoor, with a hanging bridge providing access to the entrance. Additionally, there are numerous trekking opportunities available within the sanctuary.
